George Michael’s 2nd solo album, ‘Listen Without Prejudice, Vol.1’ turns 30.

‘Listen Without Prejudice, Vol.1’ was released 30 years ago this year on September 3rd 1990.
September 2020, marks the 30th anniversary of George’s second solo studio album, ‘Listen Without Prejudice, Vol.1’. This iconic album was darker compared to ‘Faith’ and showcased George’s incredible song-writing abilities with lyrics that still hold meaning and relevance to this day.
It reached Number 1 in the UK and Number 2 in the US charts (behind MC Hammer. No shame there: the voluminously trousered rapper was a fine sprinter, but George was always a marathon runner). It featured single ‘Praying For Time’, which remained in the Billboard top 40 for an incredible ten weeks!
The album also included track ‘Freedom! ’90’, which has become one of George’s most loved songs. The official video was directed by David Fincher and featured supermodels Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington and Tatjana Patitz lip syncing.
George also went to collect the Best British Album award at the 1991 BRIT Awards for the body of work.
“Listen without prejudice means listen with an open mind.” – George. So celebrate with us and play this beautiful and meaningful album 30 years on.
